The Sunrisers Eastern Cape stayed 2nd on the table despite a typically composed pressure-knock from David Miller as the Paarl Royals won their Betway SA20 clash at St George's Park on Tuesday by 5 wickets.
On a tacky wicket, the Sunrisers could only manage 130/7 in their 20 overs - but all credit to the Royals bowlers for never letting them get away.
Jon Jon Smuts top scored for the home team with 65 off 49 balls but no-one was able to really cut loose and the total always seemed 20 runs light.
In reply, the Royals ticked along courtesy of Jos Buttler and his knock of 51 off 39 balls.
When he was bowled by the irrepressible Roelof van der Merwe in the 13th over it was 'game on'.
But David Miller is so experienced and it shone through in the 16th over as he smashed Sisanda Magala for two sixes and a four to break the shackles.
The visitors were able to cruise home from there as they finished on 131/5 in 18.5 overs to go third on the table - only behind the Sunrisers on net run rate.
