Kaizer Chiefs vs Chippa United sold out

Football fans have come out in full support for this Saturday’s PSL match between Kaizer Chiefs and homeboys Chippa United, with tickets for the thrilling clash – set to go down at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium – sold out.

Chantal du Pisani, CEO of Access Management, operator of the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, said the support from Metro fans had been fantastic.

“The ABSA PSL Soccer League match was sold out by late Thursday, proving once again that the stadium is an excellent catalyst for bringing the people of Port Elizabeth together. The capacity crowd can expect an amazing, festive vibe on Saturday afternoon,” she said.

Although the match starts at 3pm, gates open at noon and fans have been advised to arrive early.  “Motorists should expect partial road closures – in Milner Road, Prince Alfred Road and Fettes Road. Soccer enthusiasts are urged to be in their seats at least an hour before kick-off. We have great live entertainment lined up both before the game and at half time, and kiosks at the stadium will be selling a variety of food and drinks.”

“This is exactly the kind of crowd-pleasing offerings that ensures income generation and sustained jobs for the city. We aim to keep the stadium alive with action throughout the year,” she said.

On 16 May, the stadium will host the 2014/15 Nedbank Cup final between Mamelodi Sundowns and Ajax Cape Town.
