World Sevens champions South Africa were whitewashed 29-0 by hosts Australia in the HSBC Sydney Sevens final in Sydney, Australia, on Sunday.
Australia last won a sevens title on home soil 16 years ago.
The win also rounded off a great weekend for Australian sevens rugby, after they also lifted the women's title on home soil.
South Africa's defence was uncharacteristically weak and was at the heart of their defeat after missing several first-time tackles.
