Gymnastics SA says a former coach has been arrested on a sexual offence charge.
According to a statement, the person was previously registered with the Federation.
Gymnastics SA views the allegations in a serious light and will suspend the person from being able to register as a member, pending the outcome of the investigation into the criminal case.
The organisation was very tight-lipped about the identity and charges against the former coach and would not even tell Algoa FM News in what province the alleged offence took place.
They did, however, thank the NGO, Women and Men Against Child Abuse (WMACA) for the assistance they have offered the victims.
Algoa FM News has reached out to WMACA who said that it was a very sensitive matter and that more info would be available at a later stage.
