The passing of EP Rugby president, Andre Rademan, due to Covid19, has been described as a big loss for rugby in the province.
EP Rugby Deputy President, Maasdorp Cannon, said: "it's a sad day for the EP rugby community and family."
The 62-year-old Rademan had been in intensive care for several weeks after testing positive for the virus more than a month ago.
"It is a big loss to Eastern Province just after we had been given a vote of confidence at our annual general meeting on 8th of May."
"The expectation was huge that this being his second term his impact will be felt more than after he successfully was responsible for a turn-around in Eastern Province after taking up leadership in 2017."
