Deysel banned for seven weeks

The Sharks flank Jean Deysel has been slapped with a seven-week suspension after pleading guilty to foul play in  his side’s 52-10 Super Rugby loss to the Crusaders in Durban on Saturday.

Deysel kneed Crusaders loose forward Matt Todd in the back of the head in the closing minutes of the first half and was promptly red carded.

SANZAR issued a statement this morning in which it said it had accepted a guilty plea from Deysel.

He's been suspended from all forms of the game for seven weeks up to and including Saturday the 23rd of May.

Meanwhile: Singapore is the latest major global city to join the line-up of host destinations for the World Rugby Sevens Series in 2015-16.

The IRB has announced that Singapore joins Vancouver, Sydney and Cape Town as a new location on the 10-stop Series within the next four-year cycle.

Singapore's inclusion follows a highly competitive tender process featuring 25 global locations - with the successful Singapore Rugby Football Union and City of Singapore bid focusing on furthering the growth of rugby across Asia.
