Chippa United fire Malesela... again

Dan Malesela has been fired as head coach of Port Elizabeth based Chippa United with immediate effect.

Malesela told AlgoaFM sport on Wednesday  that he had been informed of his sacking by the club via email on Tuesday night.

He said poor performance was sighted as the reason for him being given the boot - but that he personally felt three matches into the new PSL season was not enough time to prove himself.

Malesela, who has been hired and fired as Chippa United coach numerous times before, conceded that it was the nature of the job and that he would be heading home to Pretoria on Friday.

The Chili Boys are currently 15th on the PSL table with one point following two losses and a draw in their opening three matches of the new season.

Former Orlando Pirates‚ Cape Town City and SuperSport United coach Eric Tinkler has been mooted as the new head coach, but Chippa United have yet to announce Malesela's replacement.

Chippa's next assignment is away to Supersport United on Wednesday 29 August.
