A strong second half performance from Chippa United saw them come from a goal behind to draw 1-1 with reigning champions, Mamelodi Sundowns in an Absa Premiership match at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Wednesday night.
The draw is Sundowns third of the season and sees them stuck in fourth place on the log with 15 points from their nine games, a staggering ten points adrift of current league leaders Kaizer Chiefs.
Chippa, on the other hand, despite many expecting them to struggle this season are eighth on the league table with 14 points, only three points adrift of second placed Ajax Cape Town.
In Wednesday's other matches, Kaizer Chiefs drew 1-all with Maroka Swallows, Bloem Celtic overcame Tuks 2-1, Ajax Cape Town secured a 2 - 1 win over Platinum Stars and Maritzburg United trounched Supersport United 4 - 1.
Polokwane City won 2 - 0 against Bidvest Wits and Free Sate Stars drew nil-all with AmaZulu.
Further afield, Real Madrid handed Liverpool a 3-0 Champions League reality check and Arsenal struck twice at the death in a 2-1 win at Anderlecht.
Real's victory leaves the 10-time European champions top of Group B with maximum points from their three fixtures.
After a run of just two wins in nine games in all competitions, Wednesday night's result leaves the Gunners in a strong position in Group D.
Arsenal sit three points behind leaders Borussia Dortmund, who were convincing 4-0 winners away to Galatasaray in the night's other game, but are five clear of the sides below them and well on course for a place in the last 16 with the reverse fixture with Anderlecht to come next.
