Chippa coach Papic resigns

The coaching merry-go-round in South African soccer is now in full swing with Kosta Papic the latest to vacate his position at Chippa United.

The Serbian coach has resigned from the post over an alleged clash of opinions with club management and has already been linked with the openings at SuperSport United and Polokwane City.

Papic lasted just five games at the Port Elizabeth-based side, yielding a single victory, a draw, and three defeats.

Chippa used six coaches in their maiden season in the PSL in the 2012/13 season and three more in winning promotion back to the top-flight in the last campaign.

Papic was their 10th coach since 2012 but that number will now rise further with his departure.

It follows the sackings of Cavin Johnson at SuperSport and Boebie Solomons at Polokwane City on Friday and Monday respectively in what has been a ‘bloody’ week for PSL coaches.
