Cricket Eatern Cape (Pty) Ltd has named the Chevrolet Warriors squad for the forthcoming season. Thando Booi (Interim CEO) “We were happy with the squad that was presented to the Board by the Selection Committee and are pleased to see that of the five new contracts three players are youngsters that have come through the ranks of playing provincial cricket and are now being validated by receiving professional contracts.”
Newcomer Sisanda Malaga had a terrific year for the EP Provincial team last season and was the leading wicket taker in the provincial competition. He took seven 5 wicket hauls with a total of 67 first class wickets. 21 year old Thandolwethu Mnyaka, who has played 27 matches for Border, is a right arm medium fast bowler who made his Border debut in 2013.
Colin Ingram who is no longer contracted to CSA will stay with the Chevrolet Warriors and will captain the team this season. His commitment to the Warriors and vast experience will play a big role in the way forward for the team.
