Cricket Eastern Cape has named its award-winners for the 2012/13 season.
The Sunfoil 4-day series player of the year was the Warriors captain Davy Jacobs and the Momentum 50-over winner was fast-bowling all-rounder Andrew Birch.
Batsman Christiaan Jonker was the RamSlam T20 player of the year and
quick Aya Gqamane won both New Comer of the Year and most improved player.
The big one - the Player of the Year - went to Andrew Birch.
Birch took 40 Sunfoil series wickets at an average of 16.07 - 23 wickets in the 50 over competition at 16.8 and he was well on his way in the T20 competition with 9 wickets before being sidelined due to injury.
Christiaan Jonker, Andrew Birch and Aya Gqamane will be joining the SA Emerging team on tour in Namibia later this week. The SA "A" squad has also been selected and Simon Harmer, Aya Gqamane, Davy Jacobs, Wayne Parnell and Rusty Theron have been included in this squad.
The SA Academy camp will take place during the winter and Warriors players Jon-Jon Smuts, Kelly Smuts, Andrew Birch and Simon Harmer have been invited to attend various specialist camps.
