CSA
Cricket South Africa (CSA) has concluded that there is no basis to sustain any of the disciplinary charges, including charges of racism, against Mark Boucher, the coach of the Proteas Men’s cricket team. The Board of CSA has therefore formally and unreservedly withdrawn all the charges.
The Board made the decision by taking several aspects into consideration.
One is the recent statement from Paul Adams stating that he had withdrawn from the hearing and would not testify against a particular player as his concerns which he articulated during the hearings were about the overall culture of the team.
Mark Boucher also apologised to Mr Adams who via his lawyers accepted the apology.
The apology was for referring to Adam’s skin colour in a song that was sung during fines meetings.
CSA says they also engaged with other potential witnesses and concluded that none of the charges was sustainable.
The charges have therefore been withdrawn and CSA will contribute towards his legal costs.
