Champions League setbacks for Chelsea and Dortmund

In Champions League quarter-final first leg action on Wednesday night, Paris St Germain and Real Madrid took big steps towards the semifinals, as the French club beat Chelsea 3-1 in Paris and the Spaniards dismantled Borussia Dortmund 3-0, also at home, in the quarterfinal first legs.

In Tuesday's quarterfinal first legs, holders Bayern Munich were held to a 1-1 draw at Manchester United and Barcelona drew 1-1 at home to Spanish rivals Atletico Madrid.

The second legs will be played on Tuesday and Wednesday next week.

And here at home: Kaizer Chiefs moved three points clear at the top of the Absa Premiership with a 2-0 win over Golden Arrows at the FNB Stadium.

In the night's other ties, Mpumalanga Black Aces defeated Orlando Pirates 1-0 at Orlando Stadium, while Maritzburg United recorded their first league victory over SuperSport United with a 3-1 win at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville.
