Port Elizabeth born players Cecil Africa and Steven Hunt were both very prominent for the Blitzbokke over the two days of the SA Sevens at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on the 9th and 10th of December with a number of tries between them.
It was fitting that Cecil Afrika - as IRB and SA Sevens player of the year for last season, was also named the Chevrolet Sport Elizabeth homegrown hero of the year at their annual awards evening at PE City Hall on the Friday night.
The readers choice award saw a popular winner in Port Elizabeth's young World karate champion Elwyn Kofi. Afrika and Kofi both walk away with several thousand rands in prize money and Puma product.
