Buffalo City Stadium to host professional footie again

Chippa United - X

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has given the Buffalo City Stadium the green light to host professional football matches once again

This was after the venue failed several PSL-stipulated standards.

Chippa United Chairman, Siviwe Mpengesi, announced that their next game at the refurbished stadium will be on the 23 December against Polokwane City.

Mpengesi thanked PSL’s Professor Ronald Schloss for conducting a thorough inspection of the stadium, which has been approved to host day games for now.

“We are actively working on upgrading our floodlight system, once that has been finalized, we will be equipped to host evening matches,” Mpengesi said.

Meanwhile, BCM Spokesperson, Samkelo Ngwenya said the stadium will surely pave the way for more sports-related events and other professional matches. He called on the BCM locals to show their support to Chippa United.

“We hope that together with the team there will be more successes going into the future and we hope that we will see more professional soccer league matches returning to our city.”
