The Springboks got the job done at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, hammering Wales 52-16 on Saturday.
The Boks ran in eight tries to one from Wales, who fielded an inexperienced backline after several mainline players withdrew in the week.
The tries came from Jessie Kriel with two tries, Canan Moodie, who also got a brace, Malcolm Marx, Pieter-Steph du Toit, and Damian Willemse.
The Springboks also earned a penalty try after Wales winger Rio Dyer was judged to have prevented a try by slapping the ball out of play.
Willemse, who came off the bench, spent 10 minutes in the bin for a dangerous tackle.
The Sprinboks could have inflicted more pain on the hosts with Manie Libbok goaling five conversions, but also missing two conversions and a penalty.
Captain Siya Kolisi put on a sterling performance in his first test after returning from injury and was replaced in the second half by Marco van Staden.
Canan Moodie was named man of the match said in post-match that they knew it would be a “tough one” in spite of being favourites.
He also said he was looking forward to playing in the World Cup, saying it was “unreal” when he was named in the Springbok World Cup Squad.
Moodie, who was still at still at school when Boks won the last World Cup, said he wanted to make the most of every opportunity as the competition was tough in the squad.
The Springboks will play New Zealand on Friday in London their final World Cup warm up match before they go into camp ahead of the tournament in France.
