The Springboks suffered some collateral damage in their 28-nil demolition of Scotland at Murrayfield on Sunday as they look ahead to their final tour match against France in Paris this Saturday.
Tighthead prop Frans Malherbe limped off in the 33rd minute with ripped cartilage and is unlikely to feature against the French, whom the Springboks have not beaten away from home for 16 years.
Blindside flanker Francois Louw was stretchered from the field in a neck brace with four minutes remaining but coach Heyneke Meyer said it was more precautionary after his neck took a serious jar.
Meanwhile: Springbok scrumhalf Jano Vermaak will join the South African touring squad in Paris on Monday as replacement for Fourie du Preez.
Du Preez became a father shortly before the squad departed from South Africa for the Castle Lager Outgoing Tour. There were concerns over his availability because of injury, but he was passed fit. It was also agreed with his club that he will be released after the Scotland Test.
Du Preez said he was very thankful for the opportunity he had to play for the Springboks this year and really enjoyed his time with the team - two man of the match awards in the 5 tests he played for the Boks this season is not a bad return.
