Boetie Britz has been called up to the Southern Kings squad following Hannes Franklin's knee injury sustained during practice last week.
Director of Rugby, Alan Solomons, said today that Britz, who had been part of the larger training squad before the break last year, would be recalled to the squad to stand in for Franklin.
25-year-old Britz played for Maties in the FNB Varsity Cup in 2009 and 2010, helping them to two championships, before joining the EP Kings for the 2011 and 2012 seasons.
Franklin will have surgery on Thursday to reattach his torn left knee ligaments.
