Keegan Petersen: CSA
Proteas top-order batsman Keegan Petersen has been ruled out of the upcoming Test-tour to New Zealand after testing positive for COVID-19.
The number three batsman is well and asymptomatic according to Cricket South Africa.
Six Gun Grill Western Province batsman, Zubayr Hamza, will replace him on the tour.
Petersen was one of the finds for South Africa in the recent 2-1 Test series win over India on home soil so his being ruled out of the short Test-series in New Zealand is a big blow for the Proteas.
Cricket South Africa has meanwhile announced that the disciplinary hearing into allegations of racial misconduct against Proteas head coach Mark Boucher will now be heard from 16 to 20 May this year.
Boucher's legal team advised CSA that he intends to call some of the players to testify on his behalf and that these players will be part of the Tour of New Zealand and the Bangladesh Tour of South Africa from 18 March to 11 April 2022.
They submitted that having a hearing in-between the two tours would be disruptive.
