Samoa delivered a powerful performance to beat South Africa 47-0 in the plate semi-final at the Glasgow Sevens on Sunday and in doing so, eliminated the Blitzbokke from the penultimate Sevens World Series tournament of the season.
More bad news for injury-hit South Africa is that Kyle Brown, the inspirational Springbok Sevens captain, is set to miss the final tournament of the season this weekend in London after sustaining an ankle injury.
New Zealand took a giant stride towards the HSBC Sevens World Series crown after beating England 29-14 in the Cup final in Glasgow.
The win increases their lead to 11 points over closest rivals Fiji with the London sevens remaining.
