Big winners at Chevrolet Warriors Awards evening

New Chevrolet Warriors Captain Colin Ingram was the big winner at Cricket Eastern Cape's Pre-season dinner and awards evening at St Georges Park on Thursday night.

Ingram was named the 50-over batsman and 50-over player of the year as well as the overall Player of the Year for the 2013/14 season.

Jon Jon Smuts was named the 20 over payer of the year and David White the 4-day cricketer of the year for last season.

Ingram said it was always nice to be rewarded but that the focus had already shifted to next Thursday and their first Sunfoil 4-day game of the new season against the Knights in Bloemfontein.

He said he'd like to turn awards into more wins on the field and that the team was looking forward to the new season as they were really fit and had put in a lot of work during the winter.

Ingram said they were building a new culture and way of doing things at the Chevrolet Warriors and that it was all very exciting.
