Proteas captain, Hashim Amla, says he's looking forward to leading his country at home for the first time in the upcoming Sunfoil test series against the West Indies starting at SuperSport Park from Wednesday.
Amla has had a successful run on the road since taking over the captaincy from Graeme Smith in June, with impressive away series wins in Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.
However, Amla says he's a bit more settled in the captaincy role and playing at home and giving home fans some local action will be good.
Meanwhile, AB de Villiers and Dale Steyn will celebrate 10 years of Test cricket on the opening day of the first Test against the West Indies at SuperSport Park on Wednesday.
The pair made their Test debuts in 2004 against England at St Georges Park, on December 17.
Steyn said the decade has gone quickly adding that he's only been to one 50-over World Cup in ten years.
Its also a fitting coincidence that Steyn and De Villiers should celebrate this milestone at the venue where their first-class cricket started.
They made their debuts for Northerns against Western Province in 2003 as budding 19-year-olds.
