There will be a heroic clash between good (the Super Heroes) and evil (Super Villains) on the famed Colonel SV Hotchkin - designed East London golf course, with the victor being charity.
Funds raised through the annual 2012 Algoa FM Charity Golf Day will go to the Kingsholme Old Age Home in King Williams Town.
An additional fun element is being added to this year’s tournament with the Super Heroes vs Super Villains theme.
“Our charity golf day gives corporates the opportunity to support needy causes while making the contacts and networking that drives business and ultimately sustains or creates the jobs that the area needs,” says Dave Tiltmann, managing director of Algoa FM.
Kingsholme Aged Home was selected because of the contributions it makes to the community, taking the burden off the elderly’s children by providing 24-hour care to 50 Xhosa, English, and Afrikaans-speaking residents and patients, all of whom are over 60.
The golf day takes place on Friday, August 31.
The cost for Premier Greens (7, 10, 16 & 18th) is R1 200. For Premier Tees (1, 2, 8, 11 & 16th) it is R1 400.00 and R2 000.00 per four-ball, including green fees and dinner at the prize-giving.
Sponsors will receive advertising air time from Algoa FM to the value of the sponsorship.
Every member of a four-ball entered (villain or hero) will receive a complimentary Matis his/hers facial to the value of R380, 00 each as part of their goodie-bag.
Prizes range from goodie bags to weekends away, and there will be awards for the longest drive and nearest to the pin.
