A SHOPPER WINS A FORD FIGO 1.4 AMBIENTE
Saturday 21 April 2012 dawned with excitement on its agenda as the Greenacres Shopping Centre and Eastern Cape Motors Win-a-Car competition came to an unforgettable close.
The incredibly popular competition had been running since 10 March 2012 with a multitude of entrants having already entered by the time the closing date arrived. Those who thrived on suspense and the thrill of a last minute entry chose the morning of the live draw to enter and possibly be chosen to be one of the 10 finalists who would get the opportunity to start the red hot Ford Figo 1.4 Ambiente up for grabs.
The mood in the Wimpy court at Greenacres Shopping Centre, where the live draw would be taking place, was a mixture of excitement, nerves and fun. Algoa Fm’s KayCee was there entertaining the crowd with great music and Greenacres Shopping Centre sponsored give-aways.
Die Burger Boardwalk Mr. PE 2011, Garneth Jaggers, was also on sight to help shoppers enter the competition and draw two of the finalists. Later, The Herald Spec-Savers Miss Port Elizabeth, Nandipha Mnuna, joined the festivities assisting entrants and taking photos with the public.
After six of the ten finalists were unsuccessful in starting the car with the dummy keys they’d drawn, you could have cut the tension with a steak knife. Seven was the lucky number of the day as Kathryn Chadfrord, the seventh finalist, finally bought the silent crowd to life with loud applause and cheering as her key started the Ford Figo.
“Shopping at Greenacres Shopping Centre is always worthwhile for our shoppers”, said Brent Starr, Centre Manager, “and for Kathryn, worthwhile shopping just became a rewarding experience”.
We hope Kathryn will be making more trips to her shopping destination of choice in her new set of wheels. Congratulations Kathryn.
