Funds raised by golfers in the Buffalo City Metro have been handed over to Duncan Village Daycare Centre to pay for much needed ablution facilities.
Algoa FM’s marketing manager Toinette Koumpan handed over a cheque for R55 000 at the Rising Sun Daycare to founder Nozie Mswi on Friday, 16 March.
“The daycare is predominantly made of corrugated iron and has no plumbing,” says Mswi.
“The money came at an opportune time and will be used to install ablution facilities for the children who attend the daycare.”
The Rising Sun first opened its doors to the children of Duncan Village in January 2013 after Mswi noticed that many children were left home alone and unattended while their parents were either at work, or looking for work.
“The golf day is definitely one of the events that we have the most fun at while raising funds for a very worthy beneficiary,” says Koumpan.
“We’re proud to be supporting the daycare and would like to thank the Buffalo City Metro businesses which supported the 2017 golf day.”
The next Algoa FM Charity Golf Day will be hosted on 28 of September.
