Pensioners in the Bethelsdorp Old Age Home in Port Elizabeth were treated to an early Valentine’s Day when Algoa FM husband and wife presenter team Mio and Queenie hosted a celebration.
Residents were given cards made by Grade 1 learners from Triomf Primary in Salsoneville, Bethelsdorp, while Aspen Spar owner Jean de Villiers donated R1 500 worth of biscuits.
Four classes of Grade 1 learners from the school joined in the festivities, with each class singing a song to entertain the residents.
“The residents were in tears as they listened to them and received their Valentines card and big hug from each of the grade ones,” says Algoa FM public relations and corporate social responsibility manager Jennilee Peremore.
