Border Drive Team take on the rubbish

Algoa FM’s Border Drive team have helped spark a citizen revolt against the rubbish strewn on the streets by striking Buffalo City workers.
Concerned about the rubbish blowing around on the main access routes to the African Open Golf Championship, Border Drive anchor Gordon Graham and his team decided to go out and make a difference by helping to clean up Western Avenue.
“The women in the office decided we couldn't just talk about the mess, but had to do something about it,” says Graham.
Other businesses in the city have joined hands with the Algoa FM team.
Among the first to join in the clean-up are Jawitz Properties and the Vincent Superspar “who are in the same road, which is pretty cool,” says Graham.
Citizens in Buffalo City have also heeded the call, and have also been out on the streets with their black bags after Algoa FM spread the news of a citizen revolution against rubbish.
“This is the true value of radio,” says Algoa FM managing director Dave Tiltmann.
“The Border Drive reaches both the people and businesses of Buffalo City, and they are clearly listening to what we have to say,” he says.
The Algoa FM team will be in action on Western Road from 10.30 on Wednesday morning.
