Algoa FM DJs are seen as being top of the class by needy scholars in the Eastern Cape and Garden Route.
The DJs took to the streets on the first day of school to raise funds and collect donations for those pupils whose carers do not have the funds for essentials such as books, pens, rulers and satchels.
“A big thank you to all those who helped give needy young scholars in our region a head start in 2014,” says Algoa FM managing director Dave Tiltmann.
Over 40 bags of clothing and school supplies were collected at busy intersections by Algoa FM DJs in East London, Port Elizabeth and George.
The donations will be distributed by the Community Chest in East London and Port Elizabeth, and by Eden Lions in George.
