The former EFF student activist who pleaded guilty for his role in the 2016 #FeesMustFall campaign has been arrested yet again.
Spokesperson for Hawks Colonel Katlego Mogale says 34-year-old Bonginkosi Khanyile was arrested on Friday, for contravention of the Riotous assemblies Act and conspiracy to commit public violence.
She says the arrest follows his actions in Johannesburg in March this year when he allegedly instigated citizens of South Africa to protest and commit acts of violence all over the country should the political party of his choice not be on the ballot paper.
Colonel Mogale says the announcement also had connotations that citizens of the country must gather together and loot the country as previously done during the deadly riots in KZN and Gauteng in 2021.
She says a case was opened in Johannesburg, while Khanyile was appearing in the Durban Magistrates court for the July riots of 2021.
The Hawks arrested him at the Durban court and he was released on bail and told to appear in in the same court on the 23rd of September for both cases to be heard.
Khanyile is now affiliated with Jacob Zuma's MK Party.
