Knysna Municipal Manager, Lauren Waring and her family were involved in a car accident over the weekend, in which her husband and mother were killed.
Acting Municipal Manager, Bevan Ellman says the family was on their way to visit family in Mpumalanga for the festive season, and were travelling between Willowmore and Aberdeen when they were involved in a head-on collision.
Ellman says they were hit by an oncoming vehicle that was in the wrong lane.
Waring's husband, Eric Goodwin, and mother, 70-year old Carol-Ann Waring, were killed in the accident.
Waring and her 9-year-old daughter were transported to a hospital in George where they are in a stable condition.
