The Eastern Cape Transport Department has launched a campaign to highlight zero tolerance for unpaid fines and warrants by motorists.
Department spokesperson, Ncedo Kumbaca says they have identified 4 big stations as part of the pilot project to launch a new approach on the execution of warrants.
These are Port Elizabeth, East London, Mthatha and Queenstown.
Transport MEC, Weziwe Tikana says these Stations have Warrant Teams dedicated to execute warrants and attend to court administration duties.
She says 8 specialised vehicles were procured earlier this year and the stations were allocated two each.
The Project started on the 1st of April 2015 and the revenue collected was more than R200 000.00 for the month of April.
