Zambian national football coach in PE court for sexual assault

The Zambian national football team coach, 51-year-old Milutin Sredojevic, appeared at the New Brighton Magistrate’s Court in Port Elizabeth on sexual assault charges.

National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson, Anelisa Ngckani, said this followed incidents at the Wolfson Stadium on Monday during the Cosafa tournament underway in Nelson Mandela Bay.

She said it was alleged that Sredojevic, a Serbian national, had pointed to the private parts of a 39-year-old woman who had delivered coffee to the stadium.  The alleged incident occurred when she asked him if he wanted sugar with his coffee.

Ngcakani said the woman reported the incident to her boss who apparently told Sredojevic “not to do it again.”

She said later that day when the woman went back to the stadium to deliver coffee, “Sredojevic allegedly touched her buttocks.”

Ngckani said the former Orlando Pirates coach was granted R10 000 bail and his next court appearance will be on 25 February 2021.
