Youths meet with social worker over attack on school bus in Humandorp

Two Eastern Cape youths aged 16 and 17 are meeting with a social worker on Wednesday so that a report can be compiled to determine their criminal capacity.

The boy's were initially meant to appear in the Humansdorp magistrates on Wednesday morning, however the matter was rolled over until Friday.

They were arrested after a learner from Nico Malan High School was allegedly stabbed on a school bus last Friday.

The 18 year-old complainant opened a case at the Jeffrey's Bay police station the next day and police are now investigating a case of attempted murder

Warrant Officer, Basil Seekoei, says the student was allegedly stabbed several times in the upper body by fellow learners during an argument on the bus.

Seekoei says a report is being compiled by a social worker to determine whether the suspects appear in a criminal or children's court.

Both boys remain in the care of their parents.
