A 24-year-old former payment administrator has pleaded guilty to 71 counts of fraud amounting to R6.6 million in the Port Elizabeth Commercial Crimes Court.

An-nei Stumke was arrested by the Hawks two days before Christmas last year following a lengthy investigation.

A spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), Anelisa Ngcakani says while she was an administrator at Nuwelande Agri PTY in Patensie, she was responsible for making payments to creditors and employees of the company.

Ngcakani says between 2016 and January 2019, Stumke started populating the company’s system with her FNB bank account which resulted in automatic payments.

Magistrate Lionel Lindoor accepted Stumke's plea and found her guilty of fraud.

She is expected to be sentenced on the 30th of October.
