Police in Port Elizabeth are investigating a case of murder after a taxi driver was shot and killed in Cleary Park on Tuesday afternoon.
Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says the victim was approached by an unknown man who fired several shots.
The shooter had his face covered.
Van Rensburg says a bystander jumped into the victim's taxi and drove him to hospital, but he died on the way.
The victim has been identified as 21 year-old Doneley Sayers.
Police says the motive for the murder is not clear at this stage as Sayers was not linked to any gang activity in the Northern Areas of the city.
