A young Port Elizabeth man has died in a shooting in the city's Northern Areas.
Police said that 23-year-old Donovan Dawson of Booysens Park was killed and two other men were wound in the shooting in Jenneker Street in Acardia
"It is alleged that on Saturday, at about 23:45 the victims were parked in Jenneer Street trying to repair their vehicle which had broken down," said spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu.
"While fixing the vehicle, a group of men came out of a house in Jenneker Street and started provoking the victims. An argument then broke out. One person was fatally wounded (the driver of the vehicle) and two other persons were injured," she said..
Naidu said the suspects got into a VW Golf and drove off.
"The deceased was identified as Donovan Dawson, 23 years old from Vastrap in Booysens Park. The other two victims are also from Arcadia," she said..
Naidu said Dawson "was shot in his face while the other two, aged 22 and 28 were shot in the chest and leg respectively".
"The incident is not gang related however the case is been investigated by the Provincial Gang Investigation Unit," she said.
