A horrific accident on Saturday claimed the life of a 25-year-old man who crashed his Volkswagen Polo into the back of a truck on the N2 near Witteklip.
Police Spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says the driver of a Mercedez Truck was travelling on the N2 in the vicinity of Woodridge/Witteklip in the direction of Gqeberha when he heard a loud noise at the back of his truck.
The truck driver stopped and noticed the front part of a Polo under the truck.
The motorist was declared dead at the scene, and nobody else was injured.
Captain Janse van Rensburg says a case of culpable homicide is under investigation at the Kabega Park Police Station.
She says the body must still be identified before his name can be released.
