Young man drowns in Nahoon River mouth

A man in his early 20's has drowned in the Nahoon River mouth in East London.

NSRI spokesperson, Craig Lambinon says the incident happened on Saturday afternoon.

He says on arrival at the river mouth, a search commenced for the local man, who went missing while swimming in the river with friends.

During the search, the body of the man was located underwater and recovered by NSRI rescue swimmers.

He was declared dead at the scene.

Police have opened an inquest docket.
