Police in Mthatha have arrested 10 students from Walter Sisulu University following a violent protest.
Lieutenant Colonel Mzukisi Fatyela says the students were arrested on Monday afternoon after they vandalized the bookshop and food storage area and set fire to security company vehicles.
Two security guards were injured.
Police recovered books to the value of R5 000 following the protest which is believed to be over bursary monies.
The students aged 18 to 22 will appear in the Mthatha Magistrates court soon.
