The wool market held on to last week's gains with Cape Wools merino indicator closing the day marginally up at Wednesday's sale.
The indicator gained 0.3% to close at R88.82 p/km for clean wool.
Cape Wools' Ona Viljoen says there was solid demand from the various sectors with 97% of the more than 7 900 bales on offer, being cleared.
She says prices were a mixed bag with fine fleece wools fetching substantially lower prices while there was keen demand for short wools.
Approximately 5 500 bales will be on offer at the next sale.
