Kariega police are investigating a case of culpable homicide after a woman was killed when a minibus rolled and landed in the bushes on Saturday.
Spokesperson Captain Andre Beetge says according to reports the driver of a white Toyota Hiace lost control on Marlin Drive shortly after 6 a.m.
He says 28-year-old Fredolene Tarentaal passed away at the scene while the driver and nine other passengers were injured.
Captain Beetge says the five women and four men, including the driver sustained various levels of injuries and were transported to the Uitenhage Provincial Hospital by ambulances.
He says allegations that Tarentaal was robbed of her belongings while lying on the scene cannot be confirmed as no theft case was opened in this regard.
Police say if a case should be opened it will be investigated by SAPS.
