Police in Bethelsdorp are investigating a case of culpable homicide after a woman was killed when a construction paving truck drove over her on Thursday morning.
Spokesperson, Captain Andre Beetge says she died at the scene after the accident occurred in William Slammert Street shortly after 9 am.
He says the 41-year-old truck driver fled to the Bethelsdorp Police Station as he was being threatened by community members after the incident.
Beetge says police are still at the scene in an attempt to calm angry residents.
The victim was identified as the 55-year-old local resident Linda Carolus.
