A 24-year-old woman has been gunned down in the latest shooting incident to rock Rosedale in Uitenhage.
Police spokesperson Captain Gerda Swart said Jaydene Plaaitjies was killed and her 27-year-old boyfriend wounded when a man opened fire on them in a house in Tailor Bird Street on Sunday night.
She said the two were watching television when the boyfriend answered a knock at the door at around 10.30 pm.
Swart said that two men, one armed with a firearm, opened fire on the couple inside the house before fleeing the scene.
Detectives from Kamesh are investigating a case of murder and one of attempted murder.
No arrests have been made but anyone who may have information on the incident should contact Uitenhage police.
