A Gqeberha woman has been killed in an apparent hit in broad daylight at her place of work in New Brighton.
Police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says two armed men entered business premises in Mtiya Street in New Brighton where they confronted the 52-year-old Bongiwe Wendy Hani and her co-worker.
She says the suspects demanded cash and ordered both victims to lie on the floor.
Colonel Naidu says when the second suspect took out his firearm it cocked and a shot went off injuring his accomplice.
She says the injured suspect shot Hani in the back and staggered out of the shop before his accomplice also shot Hani in the head.
Nothing was taken from the premises.
A case of murder is under investigation and the suspects are still at large.
