Gqeberha police are investigating a case of murder following a dramatic shooting incident just outside the St Georges Hospital on Sunday evening.
Spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg says at about 7 pm , a 49-year-old woman finished her shift and was walking towards her transport, when an unknown suspect pulled her aside and fired multiple shots at her.
She says the 49-year-old woman was rushed to the hospital where she passed away.
Captain Janse van Rensburg says the suspect fled on foot and the motive for the shooting is unknown at this stage.
A case of murder is under investigation.
