East London police are investigating the murder of a 28-year-old woman whose body was found on Kashmir Street in Braelyn Heights early on Monday morning.
Police spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel Siphokazi Mawisa, said she had sustained a wound to the side of the face, “which could have been either caused by a firearm or a sharp object”.
Mawisa said a preliminary investigation indicated that the deceased was not known in the area.
However, she the police probe led investigators to “rented flats” on Buxton Street, where she was last seen on Saturday.
The name of the deceased has not been released.
Mawisa said police are investigating a case of murder, and were also appealing to anyone who could assist with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect/s to contact their nearest police station or SAPS CrimeStop number 08600 10111.
