The body of a woman who is believed to have drowned during the heavy rain, has been found in a gorge in the Witteklip area west of Port Elizabeth.
Police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg, says the 32-year-old woman's body was found at about eight o'clock on Thursday morning.
A man, who was searching for his belongings which he believed washed away during the overnight storm, found the body.
Janse van Rensburg says the water was flowing strongly in the gorge during the storm, and it is believed that the woman drowned.
