Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality's Acting City Manager, Mzwakhe Clay has confirmed that Communications Director, Roland Williams will be leaving the employ of the Municipality at the end of this month.
Williams has been in the job for the last 14 years and told AlgoaFM News that he and the municipality have been in discussions, and agreed to part ways in an amicable way.
"We are not allowed to divulge the details but I am pretty happy. I am sure the Municipality is happy as well. It is a fair arrangement" he said
Days after completing his first 100 days in office as Nelson Mandela Bay executive mayor in early September, Danny Jordaan, suspended several high profile officials, including Williams.
The suspensions related to a range of allegations of irregularity and gross negligence, failure or refusal to co-operate with an investigation and violation of the provisions of the Municipal Finance Management Act.
Williams says he's leaving on a good note.
