Firefighters battled a wildfire in Vleesbay on Thursday night.
A spokesperson for the Garden Route District Municipality Herman Pieters says a fire broke out on a farm near the Mossel Bay area.
He says the fire originated on a dumping site and was fuelled by hot weather conditions and wind gusts.
Pieters says no one was injured and all buildings were protected.
He says Mossel Bay Firefighters and Garden Route Firefighters were also assisted by farmers and farmworkers in the area.
They managed to contain the fire and crews were still on the ground on Thursday evening to start with mop-up operations.
