A Wilderness couple has been granted bail after appearing in the Roodepoort Magistrate's court on weapons charges.
Wild News on the Garden Route reports that 61-year-old Hendrick Langeveld was granted bail of R10 000 and his 54-year-old wife, Gillian, bail of R5 000.
The case has been postponed to the 14th of March.
The couple was arrested at their home in Wilderness last Friday by detectives attached to the Honeydew police station in Gauteng, assisted by the Hawks from George.
The arrest warrant was issued after unlicensed firearms, ammunition and explosives, were found on the premises of their Honeydew home on Christmas Day by the new tenants.
Police also found an unlicensed 9mm pistol and ammunition of various calibres and two magazines with R-1 rounds during the raid in Wilderness.
